Community

Our commitment to Howard County and other communities we serve extends beyond the courtroom.

Our office is in Columbia, but our work and community involvement extend throughout central Maryland. Much of that involvement happens quietly: helping someone at the courthouse who has no lawyer, attending a board meeting after hours, or sponsoring an organization doing meaningful work. This page brings those efforts together.

We believe this work matters. It deepens our understanding of the people and families we serve and the challenges they face, making us better advocates. It also reflects a responsibility we take seriously: giving back to the communities that have supported our firm and our families for decades.

Pro bono

Volunteering at the Family Law Clinic

Three of our attorneys regularly volunteer at the Family Law Clinic at the Circuit Court for Howard County, helping people navigate divorce, custody, and support matters without a lawyer. They explain the court process, answer questions, and help participants understand their options.

Through this ongoing commitment, our attorneys make legal guidance more accessible to people facing difficult decisions about their families.

Leadership

Leadership in the legal community

Through current and past leadership roles in Maryland’s legal organizations, our attorneys contribute to professional education, support fellow attorneys, and advance the practice of family law and trusts and estates while strengthening the broader legal community.

Beyond the law

Serving on community boards

Our attorneys also contribute their time and experience to causes with personal meaning: supporting families affected by brain injury, helping guide a local preschool, leading an association of residential property managers, and supporting the alumni community of Maryland’s public service fellowship programs.
